PRIMARY FUNCTION:
• Install AVL (Audio, Video and Theatrical Lighting) systems in performance venues and commercial buildings.
• Train clients and provide on-site service to existing AVL equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair AVL systems.
• Hang, using entertainment industry best practices, all manner of AVL systems.
• Accurately and timely document quality standards, system anomalies and project work
• Maintain installation shop area.
• Work with building and electrical contractors.
• Assist Production Dept. on events periodically.
SKILLS
• Ability to read and understand CAD schematics and construction documents.
• Proficient at soldering, AVL cable fabrication and termination, cable pulling.
• Proficient at programming and servicing audio Digital Signal Processors and video or lighting control systems
• Experienced with AVL equipment rack assembly and termination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact directly with customers on the job site and effectively manage customer communication.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• The duties of this position require the ability to bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders and to stand for long periods of time
• Candidate must be capable of working at heights and have good balance.
• Candidate may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 75 pounds.
• Adverse conditions may include noise and dust.
• Wear steel toe boots when required by the job site.
• Job involves out of state travel.
EXPECTATIONS:
• Be punctual and self-motivated.
• Effectively communicate schedules and job site changes to management and staff
• Organize and prepare tools required for the installation (DSP files, specialty tools)
• Maintain knowledge of new and existing AVL products
• Learn new software programs pertinent to the job.
• Be knowledgeable with equipment utilized in the AVL industry.
• Own and maintain a minimal set of small hand tools for working on job sites. List to be provided.
• If assigned, maintain your company vehicle (at company’s expense)
• Maintain the PLT license or Registered unlicensed PLT registration.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's or Associates Degree preferred; will also consider technical school training with electronics/installation
training, military training and service and related experience
• 1- 4 years experience with AVL installations of various sizes
• Power Limited License preferred but not required.
